Group condemns empty flights of violence in Taraba



The violence that has broken out across communities in Takum Local Council and Yantu Development Area in Taraba State has been linked to the Ukwe Takum stool vacancy.

At a world press conference held in Jalingo yesterday, Nigeria’s Kutebu Yatso (KYN) claimed that over 30 years of vacuum conditions inside flights are causing anarchy.

KYN claims that this vacuum has paved the way for various criminal groups and led to an increase in robberies, kidnappings, robberies, rapes and other heinous acts in the affected areas.

The group, led by national president Emmanuel Ukweng, expressed sadness over the recent killings, stressing that the traditional toilet seat in question is the “exclusive preserve” of the Kuteb people.

The group called on Governor Agbu Cefas to carefully study the history of the Ukwe Takum Stool, citing concerns over a secret plan to pass fraudulent legislation that goes against the existing customs and traditions of the Stool. .

KYN asserted that the stool cannot be rotated, shared, or transferred to any individual or tribe except as prescribed by Kuteb customs and traditions.

The paper called on the governor to give priority to the appointment of Mr. Ukwe Takum, an indigene, in accordance with the laws and customs of the Kuteb First Nation, before promoting him to the newly created chieftainship in the area.

The group expressed that the governor is facing pressure from all quarters and urged him to remain focused and avoid distractions, saying that allowing distractions in an already volatile situation will only further He emphasized that this would lead to complications.

KYN also expressed concern that local communities could be taken over by mercenaries, seizing homes, churches and school buildings.

They called for urgent and decisive action to address the escalating crisis and protect affected communities.
