Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has assured that his administration will restore the glory of education in the state.
Mr. Rawal assured that the construction and renovation of schools in the state would officially begin.
Spokesperson for the state governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said in a statement that the state government is prioritizing education to fulfill its election promises.
He said the launch of the project was timed to coincide with the state of emergency declared in the education sector.
“During the awarding of awards for the construction and renovation of schools in Zamfara State, the governor expressed his determination to completely reform the education sector,” the statement said.
“The flag-raising exercise is aimed at constructing and renovating classrooms, washrooms, school fences, and providing furniture to students and teachers in schools in the spirit of the state of emergency declared by the government.
“The project will be carried out by a reputable indigenous contractor. The project will involve the complete rehabilitation of dilapidated schools across 14 local government areas, including those in Anka, Qawra Namoda and Gusau. It also includes new schools such as Tsangaya School, which is spread across three zones.
“The sum of N4,346,450,299 Naira 19 Kbo (4,346,450,209.19) has been allocated by the government for the implementation of these projects.The project contractors will be appointed based on their integrity and experience in handling similar projects. carefully selected.
“The project involves the construction and renovation of 245 schools across 14 local government areas in the state. In addition, 9,542 two-seater desks will be provided to students in schools in 14 local government areas. It will be done.”
