The Gombe State Government has expressed satisfaction with the progress of Gombe United in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Ibrahim Jodi, made this disclosure during a visit to the team’s training on Wednesday.
Mr. Njodi reassured the Savannah Scorpions of the government’s continued support.
He also donated one million naira to motivate the team.
“Despite some challenges, I am pleased with the progress we have made in the short time we have been here,” he said during his visit.
“I would like to assure the governor’s support. He is the club’s number one fan and the administration will do everything to continue to support the club.”
Gombe United will be swapping tackles with Kwara United in their next league match.
Mohamed Babaganar’s side currently occupy 13th place in the NPFL rankings.
