Glo welcomes stakeholders and commits to boosting Nigerians’ ambition

Total telecommunications solutions services provider Globacom has revealed a new communications direction, which builds on its new business focus “Powering Your Ambition”.

In a lavish and impressive ceremony held on Saturday, November 25, at Eko Hotels & Suite, Victoria Island, Lagos, the company hosted captains of industry, high net worth clients and business associates and other critical stakeholders for an event titled ‘An Night with Glo”.

“Powering Your Ambition” demonstrates Globacom’s preparedness and ability to empower businesses and individuals with the right tools and services to enable them to “set ambitious personal and business goals and achieve them to the fullest.”

Ms. Bella Disu, Executive Vice President of Globacom, commended Glo subscribers, partners, stakeholders and all those who have remained with the company since its inception.

“Your contributions have been essential to Globacom’s success story over the last two decades and our story would be incomplete without you. This event is special for several reasons, one of which is that Globacom celebrated its 20th anniversary last August. We are extremely proud of this achievement, which symbolizes two decades of our commitment to excellence in service provision, quality, innovation and exceptional communication strategies.

“This remarkable journey and the heights we have reached are due to the visionary leadership and tenacity of our founder and president, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr.,” she added.

The Group Executive Director, Globacom, Shade Michael-Adenuga, flanked on the left by Head of Corporate Marketing, Tega Agofure, and Nollywood actor, Tobi Bakre, and on the right by music star and Glo Ambassador, Chike Ezekpeazu, and Ag SMILE General Director of Communications, Abhulime Ehiagwina, at the “An Evening with Glo” event held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, on Saturday.

Ms Disu noted that the pace of digital transformation is much faster than it was when Globacom started. “What was once considered impossible is now the norm. As a digital solutions provider, we take advantage of these limitless opportunities to serve our customers by constantly investing in the latest tools and technologies.

She explained that the new communications direction focuses more on driving and driving ambition, whilst ensuring the success of Glo’s current and future customers.

“We are excited about the next 20 years of serving our customers, anticipating and meeting their needs in ways that help them achieve their ambitions. We count on all of you to stand by us as we write tomorrow’s success stories,” concluded Ms. Disu.

Introducing the new commercials for the company’s new communications direction, Globacom said that each new business innovation, products and services the company deploys brings its customers one step closer to their goals, “’Powering Ambition’ is much more than just a proposal, describing it as a promise that made Globacom partner with its customers to provide cutting-edge digital transformation of their businesses and innovative ideas.”

It was also a night of fun and entertainment with award-winning comedian Godwin Komone (Gordons) hosting the show which was attended by captains of industry, business executives, government officials, entertainment stars and Nollywood legends. There were also performances by master saxophonist Yemi Sax, humor merchant Arinze Baba and tap dancers from South Africa, who ensured complete entertainment for the guests who filled the venue to the brim.

The climax of the show was the electrifying performances by Glo ambassadors and music stars, Asake and Chike. They had the audience on their feet, singing along with them and dancing until the early hours of Sunday to the sounds of “Osondi Owendi” by Chike, “If you no love” and “Roju” and “Sungba”, “Joha” by Asake, among other songs.

A prize draw was also held at the event and four guests won an all-expenses-paid business class trip to the UK, courtesy of Globacom.

Earlier in the day, the company hosted the media at a press conference held at the company’s headquarters, Mike Adenuga Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos, where it commended the media for their tremendous support over the past 20 years of its operations.

Globacom’s notable contributions to the country’s telecommunications industry since the implementation of its services in 2003 have been clearly demonstrated, thus setting the tone for another future milestone.
