‘Give them an extra £20m’ – Ian Wright claims Arsenal robbed their Premier League rivals

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said the Premier League should have paid an extra £20m for Declan Rice, claiming West Ham were robbed in the transfer.

Rice joins the Emirates for a club-record £100m, with a potential £5m add-on fee.

At the time, some fans argued that the Gunners paid too much for the England international midfielder, especially since he only had one year left on his contract.

But so far, the 24-year-old has justified his transfer fee, with the club winning just 12 and losing two of his 18 starts so far.

Wright said on the podcast “Righty’s House.”

“I said, ‘You know what?’ I feel like we took money from you. I think he should be given an extra £20m. I feel guilty that I can only get him for £100 million, so I’ll give you an extra £20 million!
