Dear Nigerians,

As we enter 2025, I wish you all the best in the new year. May you be blessed with abundant joy, success, and good health.

The dawn of a new year brings with it many hopes, aspirations, and prospects for better days. By the grace of God, 2025 will be a year of great promise as we realize our collective aspirations.

Although 2024 has brought many challenges to our people and families, we are confident that brighter days will come in the new year.

Economic indicators point to a positive and encouraging outlook for our country. Fuel prices have gradually declined, and the country's foreign trade surplus has been in surplus for three consecutive quarters. Foreign exchange reserves increased and the naira appreciated against the US dollar, providing further stability.

Record growth in the stock market has generated trillions of naira in wealth and a surge in foreign investment reflects new confidence in our economy. Nevertheless, the cost of food and essential medicines remained a major concern for many Nigerian households in 2024.

In 2025, our government is committed to increasing efforts to reduce these costs by expanding food production and promoting local manufacturing of essential medicines and other medical supplies. We remain resolute in our ambition to reduce inflation from its current high of 34.6% to 15%. With diligent work and God's help, we will achieve this goal and provide relief to all nations.

In this new year, my administration will further strengthen and expand access to credit for individuals and critical sectors of the economy to expand national economic output.

To achieve this, the federal government will create a national credit guarantee corporation and expand risk-sharing instruments for financial institutions and businesses.

The Company expects to begin operations by the end of the second quarter. It is a partnership with government agencies such as the Bank of Industry, the Consumer Credit Corporation of Nigeria, the Government Investment Authority of Nigeria and the private sector, the Ministry of Finance. and multilateral institutions.

This initiative strengthens confidence in the financial system, expands credit access, and supports underserved groups such as women and youth. It promotes growth, re-industrialization and improving the standard of living of the people.

This is a personal matter, but I would like to thank you for trusting me as your president. Your trust humbles me and I promise to continue to serve you diligently and wholeheartedly.

We remain committed to the necessary reforms to promote sustainable growth and prosperity in our country.

We always ask for your cooperation and cooperation as we pursue our goal of a $1 trillion economy. Let's stay focused and united.

We are on the right path to building a great Nigeria that is beneficial to all. Let's not get distracted by the small segment of the population that still sees things through the prism of politics, ethnicity, region, and religion.

To achieve our national goals and objectives, we must become better citizens and be willing to compromise in our commitment and loyalty to Nigeria.

The moral rectitude of our people and their faith in our country are the basis for the success of the A New Hope agenda. In 2025, under our National Identity Project, we will work to promote adherence to ethical principles, common values and beliefs.

I will present the Charter of National Values, which has already been approved by the Federal Executive Council, in the first quarter of 2025. I am launching an ambitious national campaign to foster patriotism and love of country and encourage unity among our people. The Charter fosters mutual engagement between governments and peoples, and fosters trust and cooperation among diverse populations and between governments and peoples.

Our reforms are far-reaching and fundamental, but only through common values and identity and unconditional love for our country can we produce the desired results.

Youth Confab will begin in the first quarter of 2025. This is a testament to our commitment to inclusion and investment in youth as nation builders. The Ministry of Youth Affairs will soon announce how delegates to the conference will be selected from a diverse pool of young people.

Dear fellow countrymen, please continue to have faith in yourself and in our blessed country.

I would like to use this New Year's message to urge governors and local council chairs to work closely with national government to seize new opportunities in agriculture, livestock and tax reform to move our country forward. I commend the Governor for launching CNG-powered public transportation and embracing the compressed natural gas initiative. We also congratulate those who have introduced electric vehicles as part of the national energy mix and transition. The federal government will always provide needed assistance to the states.

My fellow citizens, your sacrifices over the past 19 months have not been in vain. I guarantee they won't go to waste, even in the coming months. Let's continue on the path of nation building together.

The new year will bring us closer to the bright future and dream Nigeria we all desire.

God bless you all and God bless our beloved country Nigeria.

happy new year. I hope 2025 will be a year of happiness for everyone.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
