After the second round, four teams are currently joint leaders of the Nigeria Women’s Football League NWFL.
The teams are Nasarawa Amazons, Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens and Abia Angels.
The four teams earned six points from two games played in the NWFL.
Only Adamawa Queens, Royal Queens and new signings Naija Ratels are yet to pick up any points in the league.
The league will be played in an abbreviated format with teams from Group A and Group B.
Three teams from each group will compete in a playoff to determine the league winner.
The winner will participate in the CAF Champions League qualifiers.
Delta Queens won the NWFL title last season by defeating Bayelsa Queens in the play-off final in Asaba.
