Forum criticizes tanker driver’s departure from Nupen

A forum of former National Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) presidents held on Friday said tanker drivers have no plans to leave the umbrella union.

Mr. John Osai, a member of the forum, stated this during a solidarity visit to the PTD National Chairman, Mr. Augustine Egbon, at the Nupen National Secretariat in Abuja.

“I am proud of the elections that our parent organization, NUPENG, hosted and produced new leaders,” Ossai said.

Mr. Ossai urged all branch troops of the PTD across the country to pledge allegiance to the new leadership.

“NUPENG and PTD are one. Today, this union is more sophisticated. PTD has no intention of breaking away from NUPENG for any reason,” he said.

“I appeal to all member states to abide by the law and be loyal to the Head of State and NUPENG. That is the flag we have been flying.”
