Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana said he was impressed with the quality of play in the first Nigeria National League match involving Smart City and Eder.
The match at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos ended in a 1-1 draw.
Smart City’s youngster Chinonso Uzoma scored the opening goal in the 20th minute of the match, before Arinze Anya equalized for Eder in the second half.
Olofinjana commended the NNL hierarchy for its initiatives in making the league attractive.
“I was impressed with what I saw in the match between Smart City and Eder,” he told NNL Media.
“Good officiating and good footballing art by the very young players both teams paraded. The league organizers are doing a good job as well.”
Matches for the second round of the league will be held at various centers across the country this weekend as well.
