Former South African President Jacob Zuma involved in car accident

Former South African President Jacob Zuma was involved in a car accident Thursday night when he collided with a drunk driver's car, police said.

Fortunately, Zuma escaped the accident unharmed.

The man was then arrested on charges of “drunk driving” and “reckless/negligent driving.”

Meanwhile, Zuma will be released in 2022 after completing his sentence.

Zuma was sentenced to 15 months in prison in July 2021 for refusing to appear before a judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture while he was president from 2009 to 2018.
