Former Nasarawa State Governor, Deputy Governor Election Judgment Appeals Court


Former Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Almakura, and fellow State Deputy Governor, Labalan Maku stormed the Court of Appeal in Abuja to witness the delivery of judgment in the gubernatorial election dispute.

Almakura is siding with the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Sule, while Maku led David Emmanuel Ombugadu’s team to inspect the proceedings.

Mr Sule is affiliated with the All Progressives Congress APC, the platform on which he ran in the March 18 vote, while Mr Ombugadu opposed Mr Sule on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

Besides the two, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chairman of the State APC, Attorney General and Attorney General Rabaran Shuaib also arrived at the court.

Apparently acting on strict orders, police officers stationed at the front entrance of the courtroom barred unauthorized politicians close to the former governor, Mr. Almakura, and former deputy governor, Mr. Maku, from entering. Rejected.

Meanwhile, there appears to be a tense atmosphere between the camps of Governor Sule and his challengers, with the usual teasing by politicians gone.

On October 2, the court invalidated the gubernatorial election due to alleged irregularities and irregularities during the counting of the election results.
