Police prosecutor DSP Ahmed Saidu told the court that the crime was in violation of Section 97(2), Section 288(l) of the Penal Code.

As a result, when the charges were read out to Muhammad by Chief Justice Hajiya Fatih Umar Hassan, he pleaded guilty to the charges.
The prosecution then invoked the provisions of Article 190 of the Niger State Criminal Justice Management Act, stating that the convict had been diagnosed with cough-related hemophilia, and asked the court to promptly convict him.
