FG launches startup registration portal | Guardian Nigeria News

The federal government late Tuesday night announced the launch of a portal for startup support and engagement registration.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, made this announcement through a statement on X.

“We are pleased to announce the launch of the Startup Support and Engagement Portal, a key requirement of the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act,” Tijani said.

He added that the startup portal will facilitate the identification and aggregation of startups, venture capital firms, hubs and innovation centers in Nigeria to facilitate engagement and support to ecosystem stakeholders.

The minister said the launch of this portal will enable the country to begin the process of establishing a Startup Consultative Forum to elect representatives to the National Digital, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council.

According to Tijani, this will help facilitate discussion and consensus among ecosystem stakeholders in Nigeria.

“We invite all emerging venture capital firms, hubs and innovation centers in Nigeria to register on the portal,” Tijani said.

He also said that the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy looks forward to working with all industry stakeholders.

Tijani added that working with all industry stakeholders will help the ministry fully implement the Start-up Act for the benefit of Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
