The Federal Government has announced that it has begun recruiting community managers under the ongoing 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) programme.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday through the ministry’s official X handle.
According to the ministry, the nationwide recruitment drive will produce 37 learning community managers across the country who will coordinate the activities of community members.
“To launch the #3MTT program, we are hiring 37 Learning Community Managers across Nigeria to coordinate the activities of our community members. A cluster of people and a network of learners who support them,” the post reads.
According to the job specifications on the career page, the 3MTT Community Manager will be responsible for:
“3MTT’s technology talent community and its efforts within the state (inside and abroad) and its scalable programs to attract and prepare a broad and diverse group of ambitious Nigerian engineers for the technology workforce and other opportunities. Lead, build and sustain your state’s digital economy.
“Lead your community and own the 3MTT brand in your state, attract existing community members and allies to the program, and revitalize your existing community. Build and maintain state-specific and regional strategies, We will send out support and messages to everyone.
“Build models, success metrics, and growth strategies to ensure the long-term success and growth of the 3MTT community across the state. Develop and track metrics to measure learner progress and selection effectiveness. support the team,
“Oversee the procurement of volunteer facilitators, experts, venues, hubs and other stakeholders to host meetups and other events in Nigeria.”
Community managers are also required to “define the state’s community building and engagement strategy.” Promote advocacy, oversee production, and provide community engagement materials. Develop programs and materials to facilitate contributions to workforce growth within the state. Represent the initiative at conferences and plan and conduct meetups across the state. Create opportunities to engage with relevant partners in ways that create the most value for the 3MTT community. ”
The department says the ideal candidate for this role should have at least three to four years of relevant management experience and strong leadership skills. Other requirements include:
“A deep understanding of the Nigerian developer ecosystem is a plus (and other significant community management experience is also a plus). Leverage technology to create systems, programs, and teams that are scalable without compromising quality.” Understand how to build
“Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills. Be a self-starter who can complete tasks with minimal supervision.
“Have a high level of attention to detail and organization. Possess strong professional relationship building skills and proven self-motivation and tenacity.”
The ministry has not specified a deadline for job applications, which begins on Monday, November 20, 2023.
Earlier, Mr. Tijani said the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program is an important part of President Bola Tinubu’s New Hope Agenda, building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to strengthen the digital economy and make Nigeria a net He stated that the aim is to position the country as a talent exporting country. .
The first phase of the program will be implemented in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Authority and will involve multiple stakeholders, including fellows, training providers, partners, and recruitment organizations.
