FG approves recruitment of 200 doctors and nurses from FMC Ogun


The Federal Government has approved the recruitment of 200 medical and clinical personnel to the Federal Medical Center in Idi Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The move is part of the government's efforts to replace health workers who recently migrated abroad from FMC in Abeokuta.

The FMC Medical Director received approval to hire new workers in a letter from the federation's Office of Service Director.

The letter, marked HCSF/SPSO/ODD/E&WP/650361, was in response to a request for staff employment from the medical center and was titled “RE: Application for Exemption from Hiring Staff for the Federal Medical Center in Abeokuta.” . '.

“You have been directed to refer to the references in your letter. No. Filed SMH.587/S.26/T/73 dated 31st August 2023 on the above subject matter, Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta for a total of 200 positions,” the letter reads in part.

FMC was exempted from hiring 100 health care workers under the integrated health pay system and 50 nursing staff and 50 nursing supervisors under the integrated health pay system.

The approval “builds on and is limited to the Center's 2023 approved establishment position covering the proposed adoption,” it said.
