The police released the other person who was arrested and said they would release the other person because he did not have any tattoos on his body. was refused bail. He was arrested on Saturday evening and we went there again on Sunday and were told that Inspector Raj was IPO. They told us to come back on Monday. Representatives of the family did not see Monday’s IPO. They said he was out.
“Mr. Sei was begging to be released as he had not committed any crime. My brother who was there threatened that IPO would definitely make him suffer and that IPO would have to take him to Eleweran headquarters. He said he was eventually taken there on Tuesday.
“I was living in Ibadan. I had to go to Abeokuta on Thursday evening for that matter. I went to Eleweran on Friday and brought some groceries. Bread, malt, bottled food. Drinking water. When I got there, I couldn’t see the IPO. I was told to wait for him. I arrived at Eleweran around 10am, but I couldn’t see the IPO. It was 1 p.m. When I first met him and told him I wanted to meet my brother Seyi, he suggested I wait outside until it was over.
“When I brought food to the police officers and said I wanted to give it to my brother in the cell, they charged me 2,000 naira, but I paid the female police officer 1,000 naira.
“After a while I lost patience and went back to the policewoman and begged her to let me see my brother. She agreed and took us to a cell. Some The inmate said he had been taken out in the morning. We were then called upstairs to see the deputy. We didn’t know he wanted to give us bad news. Then he said, “Your son was misbehaving in his cell all night. He was biting prisoners and talking to himself. He was acting like he was crazy. They took him to the hospital, but once he got there he gave up. He just stopped breathing.”
However, the family maintains that the child must have been tortured to death because they refused to pay the N200,000 bribe earlier demanded by the police.
