Ex-Premier League star Oliver Spedding who quit football for p0rn industry dies at 34

Former League youngster Oliver Spedding, who quit football for the p0rn industry, has died aged 34.

He came through the ranks to the Crystal Palace, but fell in love with the game and served time in prison. He continues to play at non-league level with Croydon FC, moving into porn.

The former Croydon club defender announced his move and held a moment of silence before their match.

The statement read: “Oliver played for the club for two songs and loved the man a lot who always worked for the team.

“Oliver will be greatly missed by everyone at the club and our thoughts will be with his family and friends at this difficult time.”

Spedding, who became involved in a relationship with adult film star Sophie Anderson, became a painter and decorator after dyeing his chains before turning to porn. He revealed that he was only paid £150 per film and often regretted turning his career into a powerhouse at Selhurst Park.

Speaking on the Anything Goes with James English podcast last year, he admitted: “When I was at Crystal Palace, if I had stayed with them, then I could have earned a lot more football.

“I was fighting well, maybe I would have gone somewhere. I was good at both, but a porn star, I thought it would be just as good – but not as good as people think.”

Croydon manager Liam Giles admitted he had discussed a potential return to football with Spedding before the move.

He wrote on social media: “Such heartening news, Ollie was a warrior on the pitch and represented Croydon 100% every time.

“We talked a few weeks ago about getting back into football. I hope you find your peace mate. Sleep tight.”

Revenues also poured in from former teammates from his time at the non-league club.
