ESN deputy commander killed in police raid on IPOB camp in Abo Mbaise
The Nigeria Police Force has announced that ESN Commander Ebube Virus, deputy commander of the Eastern Security Network, has been killed in a fierce gunfight.
The deceased suspect is on the command's wanted list for his heinous activities in the Abo Mbaise axis.
The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, stated this in a statement issued by the Police Spokesperson in the state, Mr. Henry Okoye, on Tuesday.
CP stated: “Following the confession of an IPOB/ESN terrorist suspect allegedly involved in the murder of DPO Ahiaz Mbaise and other dastardly acts in the Mbaise axis, members of the command anti-kidnapping squad led by CSP Oladimeji Odeyiwa, on Monday, 4th, 2023 In December, we raided the criminal hideout of the deadly IPOB/ESN terrorist syndicate led by Ebubu Virus and Ishaka at Umuogu Amuzu in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State and eliminated the terrorists.
The statement reads: “In the process, a fierce battle broke out between the terrorists and combat-ready police personnel and the deputy commander against the Ibubu virus was incapacitated. , the Mbaise axis, which is well known for being on the command's wanted list. Others who were shot ran away. An AK-47 rifle containing 19 live rounds was recovered from the neutralized terrorist.

CP Danjuma called on “Ndi Imo” to assist the police and other sister security agencies with timely and actionable information that will help eradicate terrorism in the state.
He encouraged hospital and emergency store owners to report anyone witnessing or treating gunshot injuries to the nearest police station.
