Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has warned his players they must be ready to “suffer” and make sacrifices amid a crowded fixture list.
Ten Hag also trolled suggestions that the injury crisis was caused by his training regime.
Mason Mount is the latest player to be ruled out after sustaining a calf injury in training. The midfielder will join Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Tyrrell Malasia and Jonny Evans on the sidelines.
Luke Shaw returned for the first time in three months for the visit of Everton, while Rasmus Hjølund, Andre Onana and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all doubts.
“In the first 12 games of the Premier League, the physical standards were even higher compared to last year. You have a choice.
“Either you match that with training and preparation, or you drop out.
“It’s a decision that every club, every team and every individual has to make. We have to do it wisely. We know that every team has to suffer and make sacrifices,” Ten said. Hug said.
