EPL: Xabi Alonso despises Liverpool, candidates to replace Klopp revealed

According to Mail Sport, Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso will ignore the chance to replace Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp.

Alonso is also set to decline a bid from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich to remain at Leverkusen for another year.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with the Reds since Klopp announced his departure from the Premier League side this summer.

However, Liverpool have been given no reason to believe the former midfielder wants to leave the Bundesliga leaders.

This leaves Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as the frontrunner along with Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi.

Mr Amorim, 39, is likely to be interviewed for the role and is thought to have performed well on internal data tests.
