EPL: Why I copied Ronaldo’s ‘Siu’ celebration – Chelsea striker Jackson

Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson has revealed why he copied Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siu’ celebration.

Jackson also insisted he would continue to emulate his idol Ronaldo’s celebrations, but only if he scored a hat-trick.

Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal last summer in a deal worth £32 million.

The 22-year-old has made a successful start to life at Stamford Bridge, scoring seven goals in 14 games so far for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The Senegalese international scored a late hat-trick against Tottenham in early November, but raised eyebrows by displaying Ronaldo’s signature ‘siu’ celebration after scoring the third goal.

“When I was a kid, I loved Cristiano Ronaldo. His name was on the shirt I always wore,” Jackson told the Telegraph.

“It’s not an actual shirt. I don’t buy it because it’s expensive. But I had a shirt with 7 in the pen and Ronaldo on it. I did it myself when I was a kid.

“Of course, I pretended to be him, but it was difficult to watch his games because you had to pay. We all went to friends’ houses[to watch Real Madrid]. .

“I used to congratulate him all the time, including when he was at Villarreal and he scored two goals. So when he scored a hat-trick, I had to do it. From now on, every goal I do it just to get a hat-trick, not to do it.”
