EPL: Ten Hag reveals why he clashed with Martial during 1-0 defeat against Newcastle
Manchester United supervisor Erik ten Hag has defined why he reprimanded Anthony Martial for storming the touchline during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.
Martial didn’t make an influence at St James’ Park and was changed by Rasmus Højlund simply 61 minutes into the second half.
The Frenchman has had a poor season, with only one aim and one help in 12 Premier League video games.
Ten Hag was seen shouting at Martial during the sport against Newcastle, and the participant was seen arguing again on the Dutchman.
Asked concerning the incident after the match, Ten Hag stated: “It’s not about Anthony Martial. It’s concerning the crew. I attempted to energise the crew and get a response from the crew.
“We’ve had a tough time at this moment. When you’re coaching, you get a little more aggressive, but that’s normal.”
