Arsenal entered Week 14 of the Premier League in first place with a narrow 1-0 win over Brentford.
The Gunners were unable to keep the Bees at bay, with their compact and solid defence.
Leandro Trossard’s goal was ruled out for offside and it looked like Mikel Arteta’s side would share the points with Brentford.
However, in the 89th minute, substitute Kai Havertz headed in Bukayo Saka’s cross to take the lead.
The result leaves Arsenal with 30 points, one more than Manchester City, who drew 1-1 with Liverpool early in the kick-off.
Other games played on the day included Newcastle beating Chelsea 4-1, Brighton beating Nottingham Forest 3-2 and Luton beating Crystal Palace 2-1.
