EPL: ‘He has class’ – Neville identifies what Manchester United star Guardiola wants from his team
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has named Coby Mainu as the Red Devils star Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola would like to have in his squad.
Neville said this while giving his verdict on Maynou’s performance after Manchester United’s 3-0 Premier League win over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. He said he was there.
Recall that Man Utd defeated Everton on Sunday, thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, and Mainu was given his first start in the Premier League.
He put in some impressive performances in the heart of Man United’s midfield, and after the match captain Bruno Fernandes praised him as his team’s man of the match.
“He (Mynu) went here to Goodison Park and he looked classy in a hostile environment, in what might have been the most intense atmosphere of the year,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“It pains me to say this, which is the highest compliment I can pay him, but I hope people take this in the right spirit…He was like a Manchester City player.
“Honestly, I looked at him and thought, ‘That’s what Pep Guardiola has noticed and wants to put him in my midfield, that’s what my midfield players should do.’ He’s a player I’m thinking about.”
