EPL: "Goals are not my strong point" - Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus admitted: “Goals are not my strong point.”

Jesus again failed to score for Brazil as they lost 1-0 to Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

This extended his streak of scoreless games for the national team to nine games.

However, despite his poor record with the Brazilian national team, scoring just one goal in 29 appearances since October 2019, Jesus insists his lackluster performance will eventually come to an end.

He said: “There was something that really bothered me in the cycle after the 2018 World Cup. I was young and had a different mindset.

“Today I am more mature, more educated and a family-oriented person. I understand that football is my first priority and especially to give my best for Brazil. I also know that I have to be in good shape.

“There are things I cannot control. I train, look, try, move, help the team. I believe that goals are not my strength, but I score goals, I score goals. I’m there to make decisions. I achieved a lot with the national team.”
