EPL: Freddie Ljungberg assesses Arsenal’s chances of winning the title this season
Former Arsenal winger Freddie Ljungberg doubts whether the Gunners can end their title drought this season under manager Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal are aiming for their first league title since 2004.
Arteta’s side defeated Brentford 1-0 on Saturday to take top spot in the Premier League.
However, Ljungberg is concerned about Arsenal’s attack, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli all scoring less goals per minute compared to last season.
“I definitely think they’re ready to challenge for the title,” Ljungberg said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“But the statistics here are very indicative and I don’t think they are working in their favor,” added the retired footballer, looking at the numbers of Arsenal’s attacking line.
