EPL: Easy win for Newcastle – Pochettino cancels Chelsea players’ time off
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettio has canceled plans to give his players two days off following the team’s 4-1 loss to Newcastle, the Daily Mail reports.
Due to the touchline ban, Pochettino watched the match from the stands.
Alexander Isak opened the scoring for the hosts, while Raheem Sterling equalized for the Blues.
But Pochettino’s side fell apart after the break, with captain Reece James showing his record card and Thiago Silva being responsible for giving Newcastle what Pochettino described as an “easy win”.
“These games made me very, very, very angry,” Pochettino said.
“We have to show personality and character. We can’t play football like this.
“Newcastle weren’t very good, but they won easily.”
