The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb Maitama Tuggar, has stated that with the Siemens gas deal between Nigeria and Germany, Nigerians will experience better supply of electricity before the second half of 2024.
“In the first half of next year (2024), there will be a remarkable improvement in the supply of electricity in Nigeria,” he told the TV channel, adding that the problems of the past are being managed by the President. Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Tuggar said the gas deal between Nigeria and Germany is a win-win. He said, “The fact that we are going to export gas to Germany or intend to do so does not mean that we are depriving Nigeria of its domestic gas needs; that will also be guaranteed, but also the necessary revenue that will come from such exports to invest in further electricity and gas to other parts of Nigeria. Yes they are connected with each other, and one does not cease to become the other.”
