Ekiti varsity student cuts his classmate with a razor blade during an argument

Police have arrested a 300-level student of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) in Ekiti State, Rachael Olufogbe, for allegedly cutting a fellow student with a razor blade during a heated argument.

It was gathered that the incident happened at a private hostel located in Oye Egbo, a community outside the school premises, on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

According to PunhappyOlufogbe and the victim disagreed over the right to clothesline in the hostel.

The victim moved Olufogbe's clothes to create space on the clothesline before scattering his clothes.

However, Olufogbe protested against this act, leading to an exchange of words between the two.

The situation quickly escalated, as Olufogbe allegedly chose a blade to inflict bodily injuries on the victim.

The school's vice-rector, Prof Sunday Fashina, confirmed the incident to the publication on Saturday.

“The incident took place off campus in a private hostel. No one dares to do this inside the campus because they know the rules and regulations. If anyone tries this, it will catch up with them. The police are already taking care of it,” he said.

“The suspect is in police custody and once it involves the police, we cannot interfere. When they have finished their investigations, they will write to the Vice-Chancellor to submit their report and we will then conduct our investigation. So, we will wait for the result of the police investigation.”
