The Ekiti State Government on Monday announced plans to partner with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development for the purpose of wealth creation and expansion of employment opportunities in view of its vast solid mineral resources reserves.
The Executive Governor of EKTI State, Mr. Abiodun Oyebunji, disclosed this during a courtesy call on the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Oladele Arake, in Abuja.
The governor made his point on the motive for the visit and how Ekiti can work with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to ensure that the state is included in its vision to bring maximum socio-economic benefits to the people. He explained that he had come to discuss the matter. .
He said: “The reason is to discuss how Ekiti State can partner with this ministry to ensure that its vision is realized. Any astute nation that wants to develop itself needs to give importance to this vision. There’s a lot of opportunity in this vision, because he’s trying to democratize space, and it’s going to create wealth, it’s going to create jobs, it’s going to increase security.
“I have just shared with him my experience in the EKITI state. So there is no country that does not want to be part of this vision because this is the next oil. Sho.”
In his comments, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Oladele Arake, said EKITI State is one of the states endowed with both natural and mineral resources and has competitive cost advantages in exploration and mining. Ta.
