FCTA cracks down on illegal slaughterhouses in Abuja

Easter: FCTA guarantees maximum safety for residents

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has assured residents of the region of maximum safety during the Easter celebrations and beyond.

The Director-General of the FCTA Command and Control Center, Peter Orumuji, made this assertion in an interview with reporters in Abuja on Friday.

Mr Olumuzi said FCT Minister Nyesom Wike worked with security agencies to ensure the deployment of human and material assets to ensure the safety of the population.

He further said that the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies have already deployed huge numbers of personnel on patrols, both on foot and in vehicles, to ensure the Easter celebrations go off without a hitch.

He said secret personnel, including Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts, had been deployed to all nuclear weapons and facilities in the FCT as part of proactive measures to protect the population.

“The Minister has been meeting regularly with the security agencies led by the Nigeria Police and they have assured us that we will celebrate Easter peacefully during the FCT.

“Based on this, the FCT Police Command has announced the deployment of over 2,000 personnel, including critical assets, to all parts of the city.

“Intelligence operations and secret assets were equally deployed across all nuclear weapons and facilities in the FCT.

“EOD personnel are also being deployed to strategic locations, particularly worship and recreation centres,” he said.
