We are confident you will win the AFCON title – From FG to Super Eagles

Eagles move up 14 places in latest FIFA rankings — Sports — Headline News – Nigeria and world news

Nigeria's Super Eagles have climbed 14 places from 42nd to 28th in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men's World Rankings.

The latest rankings were published on FIFA's official website on Thursday.

In Africa, the Super Eagles moved up from sixth to third place, with Morocco occupying the top spot on the continent and Senegal in second place.

Ivory Coast's elephants, who won the African Cup of Nations for the third time on Sunday, rose 10 places to 39th.

The last time the Eagles were ranked 28th in the world was in 2008.

The Eagles' significant rise in the rankings was due to their performance at AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.

After a shaky start, drawing 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea, Jose Peceiro's side made it all the way to the final.

Unfortunately, they were unable to finish the tournament on a positive note, losing 2-1 to the host country, Ivory Coast, in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, there is no change in the top 10 of the rankings, with world champions Argentina, France, England, Belgium, and Brazil in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, respectively.

In 6th place is the Netherlands, in 7th place is Portugal, in 8th place is Spain, in 9th place is Italy, and in 10th place is Croatia.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola rankings will be announced on April 4th.
