Don Jazzy addresses rumors of selling Maybin Records

Michael Collins Ajere, aka Don Jazzy, music executive and CEO of Maybin Records, has finally addressed the rumors of selling the record label.

DAILY POST reported in October 2023 that Billboard reported that sources say Maybin Records is “seeking investment, with bids coming in from Universal Music Group, HYBE, and music asset investors in the financial sector.” There has been strong interest from investors, and we are exploring the possibility of a complete sale.''

However, on the latest episode of his Zero Conditions podcast, Don Jazzy hinted that the label is not looking to sell, but is being approached by investors.

He explained that Mavin Records is backed by foreign investors because it is profitable and has a lot of potential.

Don Jazzy noted that Maybin has been in business with current partner Kupanda Holdings for five years, and that Holdings will not continue the partnership “forever.”

He said, “(Rumors about selling Maybin Records) are simple. We have an investor called Kupanda Holdings, and they've been here for five years. So let's stop it (lol).

“Obviously, a lot of people are interested in investing in Mavin. People always patronize you when you have gold and diamonds. And Mavin Records has a lot of potential.”
