Nigeria women's national basketball team Ditigres has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics basketball competition.

Ditigres achieved this feat in the opening match of the FIBA ​​Olympic Qualifiers in Belgium, defeating Senegal 72-65, and Senegal losing to Belgium 66-92.

Nigeria lost 109-44 to FIBA ​​2022 World Champions USA, but despite the loss, Ditigres won the opening match and qualified for Paris.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Belgium's victory over Senegal qualified the United States as world champions.

Nigeria and Belgium also qualified despite having one game remaining.

Queen John Mosef, a basketball enthusiast, said the team had succeeded in establishing its place in Paris and history.

NAN reports that Nigeria will play Belgium on Sunday night while the USA will face Senegal to conclude the Olympic group qualifiers.
