Customs Commissioner speaks passionately about utilizing the experience of retired officials
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr Adewale Adeniyi, believes it is important to tap into the wealth of knowledge of former management staff of the service.
Speaking at the first reunion of retired NCS management staff in Abuja on Saturday, Mr Adeniyi said the measures were important to improve service delivery.
He said the reunion was inspired by the recognition of the vast experience, expertise and dedication of retired police officers through their outstanding service in the NCS.
He said it was important to recognize and fill existing gaps that may have hindered the efficient use of such critical resources in the past.
“Learning from the success stories of other organizations, we must recognize the following gaps and work to overcome them.
“There is a lack of a structured program within the NCS specifically designed to hire retired police officers.
“NCS could benefit from creating customized programs to facilitate seamless collaboration.”
