A group of 30 bipartisan corporate bodies led by the Global Peace and Life Rescue Initiative (GOPRI) has advised the Tinubu administration to consider the mining sector as a means of diversifying Nigeria’s revenue from the oil sector to non-oil sectors.

The statement reads: “We are shocked by the kind of transformation and major reforms that are taking place in the Ministry of Solid Minerals, especially the Nigeria Mines and Cadastral Authority.
“Our findings show that Nigeria’s mining ledger is fully digitized and reformed, making it competitive anywhere in the world.
“However, we caution the government and Nigerians to be wary of any defamatory acts against government institutions and their leaders.
“Some of the large companies specializing in illegal and fraudulent mining activities that have been ousted may wish to fight back from reforms such as those taking place in the Nigeria Cadastral Authority,” the statement warned.
