Court remands Yahoo boy for rape and death of 17-year-old girl

A Kwara State Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin has remanded 19-year-old Isaac Odunayo to prison for raping and causing death of a 17-year-old girl.

According to the police First Information Report (FIR), Odunayo lured the deceased to a hotel and forced him to perform sexual favors until his death.

Prosecutor Abdullah Sanni told the court that the suspect tried to flee 45 minutes after arriving at the hotel, but was arrested by the hotel manager and called to ask him to pay for his stay.

“The manager then followed Odunayo into the room where he found the girl lying unconscious in a pool of blood.

“During police interrogation, Odunayo confessed to having sex with the girl, which resulted in her death from blood loss, and that he was an internet fraudster,” it said.

The presiding judge, Magistrate Mohammad Dasuki, after considering the submissions of the prosecutor, ordered the suspects to be remanded and adjourned the case until December 12, 2023.
