Court of Appeal Ruling: Governor Idris promises never to let Kebbi residents down
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has told the people of the state that he will never shirk his lawful duties as governor.
Mr Idris made the announcement on Friday while addressing a large crowd of supporters at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi to celebrate his victory at the Court of Appeal in Sokoto.
The governor assured the people that he is ready to give more benefits of democracy to his constituents through the implementation of important development projects that directly impact the lives of the people, especially the common man.
He said the Court of Appeals’ decisions are fair to all individuals, regardless of their tribe, political or religious allegiance, and therefore ensure that the judicial branch of government truly carries out its duties as an independent body. He said he had proven that.
While Idris praised the court for doing a thorough and good job, he called on it to maintain the pace for the sake of the country’s democracy and the country as a whole.
“This judgment showed that the mission of the Kebbi people has been given to them. This is an indication that the Kebbi people have a good heart towards Kauran Gwandu and it is a sign that the Almighty That’s why God is on their side,” he said.
