The National Defense Headquarters has debunked a report that CDS Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa has died.
DAILY POST recalls that an online newspaper (not DAILY POST) had earlier reported the death of the Defense Secretary.
However, a statement signed by the Director of Defense Intelligence, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said the report was unfortunate, unethical and false.
“The Defense Command has drawn attention to a disappointing report by an online newspaper claiming that the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, passed away yesterday. It lacks sex.
“To set the record straight for CDS, General CG Musa is alive and well. The Chief of Defense Staff, who has just returned from his official duties abroad, is determined to continue his exceptional leadership style for the prosperity of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Therefore, he resumed work with more vigor.
“The online newspaper has since retracted its report and has extended its unreserved apologies to CDS, his family and the Nigerian Armed Forces,” the statement said.
