Following the confusion surrounding the Court of Appeal’s judgment on the Kano State governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it has not received the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment.
DAILY POST reported that the Abuja Court of Appeal last week removed Governor Aba Yusuf from office, saying he was not fit to contest.
The court declared Nasir Yusuf Ghauna the APC winner in the March 18 vote.
However, a certified copy of the judgment showed that the court had upheld Yusuf’s victory in the gubernatorial election, causing confusion.
Now, APC has revealed that there has been a delay in receiving a certified copy of the Court of Appeal judgment.
The party’s Legal Adviser, Lawyer Abubakar Kaka, on Wednesday addressed reporters at the media office of the National Secretariat and disclosed the unfolding situation.
Kaka stressed that the APC is yet to receive the official CTC on the judgment and the party is in limbo over recent reports suggesting errors in the document.
He emphasized that accurate and appropriate documentation plays a key role in determining the appropriate course of action for APCs.
“We have not yet received a true certified copy of the judgment. However, we will write and receive a copy. If the copy given to us still contains this error, we will We will take action.
“What we’re going to do, and what we’re still doing, is we’re going to write a request to the CTC. Until the CTC includes that error and the joke is on, what do we do next? I don’t understand.
“However, I believe that whoever received the CTC containing that error, if he is the right person and is entitled to a copy, will take the necessary steps to seek confirmation from us. I would like to suggest that they would have taken the following steps.
“But I say the court should have taken the necessary steps to make the correction,” he said.
