Chairman Abbas meets with Foreign Minister over absence of Nigeria’s delegation in Iraq

Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Yusuf Tugha about the absence of Nigeria’s delegation in Iraq.

The chairman’s decision followed concerns raised by Iraq’s ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Anwer Saeed Al-Jabari, during a courtesy visit on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Abbas expressed surprise that Nigeria currently does not have a contingent in Iraq to which its citizens can go for help, and said he would address the issue with Mr Taggar with a view to addressing the issue. said.

According to the Chairman, Iraq is an important country in the community of nations and that is why efforts must be made to make Nigeria’s mission in the country functional.

“I would like to assure you that we will take up this issue. I will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and find a way to resolve the issue so that the Nigerian mission in Iraq can operate again,” the chairman said.

Prime Minister Abbas also informed the Iraqi ambassador that the 10th House of Representatives had established a Parliamentary Friendship Group to work with the Iraqi Parliament for better cooperation between the two countries.

“We take seriously our parliamentary relations with parliaments around the world. That is why we created the Parliamentary Friendship League with the Iraqi Parliament. The chair of the committee will meet you in due course.” he said.
