CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United wins against Angola

Rivers United were at their ruthless best as they lost 3-0 to Angola’s Académica do Lobito in Uyo on Sunday night.

The Nigerians got off to a perfect start with Ghanaian import Samuel Antwi slotting the ball into the goal from Paul Odeh’s cross in the third minute.

Odeh scored the goal two minutes after the break.

Stanley Eguma’s side outscored the visitors, with Shedrack Asiegbu scoring their third goal on the hour mark.

River United are top of Group C with three points, albeit on goal difference, ahead of Tunisian club Africaine, who defeated Ghana’s Dreams FC 2-0 on Sunday night.

United will next face Dreams FC away at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
