CAF Awards 2023: Oshoala and Nnadozi shortlisted for Women’s Player of the Year

Super Falcons duo Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nadozie have been shortlisted for the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, DAILY POST reports.
Eight other players made the shortlist, including Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa), Andile Dlamini (South Africa), Ajala Ntchot Njoya (Cameroon) and Hilda Maguire (South Africa).
Moroccan trio Anissa Ramali, Fatima Tagnaout, Ghislaine Chebak and Zambia’s Barbara Sanda are also vying for the award.
Oshoala won the award for a record fifth time last year.
Barcelona’s Femeni star will now be aiming for a record-extending seventh crown.
Paris FC shot-stopper Nnadozi is also in the running for Goalkeeper of the Year.
Esther Ajakai and Deborah Abiodun have been shortlisted for the Women’s Young Player of the Year award.
The Super Falcons are in contention for Team of the Year honors, and Randy Waldrum is in the running for Coach of the Year honors.
The Awards Gala will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Mövenpick’s Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco.
