Boxer Jarrell Miller arrested for carjacking and robbery with assault

American professional boxer and former kickboxer Jarrell Miller was reportedly arrested for alleged carjacking without a firearm or weapon and robbery with assault or battery.

Miller was detained by police in Hollywood, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon after being accused of attacking a car dealership employee and then disappearing in a recently recovered Dodge Ram pickup truck, according to news network WSVN.

Police reportedly said Miller did not know the truck had a tracker inside, and they located and arrested him later in the day.

The 35-year-old heavyweight boxer allegedly strangled the employee and threw him to the ground before grabbing his keys and fleeing the scene.

Miller is being held on $30,000 bail at the Broward Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale – after having a hearing Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.

The news comes just 12 days after Miller's mega-money fight with Daniel Dubois in Saudi Arabia, with the pair taking part in the highly anticipated Day of Reckoning card.

The 35-year-old American lost the fight due to a 12th-round TKO, but received the biggest payday of his career in the process.

The aim of the fight was to help Miller get his life back on track after being suspended for two years in December 2020 following four positive drug tests over a 12-month period.

Miller was supposed to fight Anthony Joshua for the Brit's IBF, WBO and WBA heavyweight titles at Madison Square Garden on June 1, 2020.

However, Miller failed a series of Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) tests in late March and served a six-month suspension as a result of his doping.

Eddie Hearn decided to leave Miller – who tested positive for human growth hormone, EPO and GW1516 – and instead put Joshua in touch with Andy Ruiz.

However, Ruiz surprised the world by brutally stopping Joshua in their June 1, 2019 fight – winning the heavyweight title from Joshua.
