Bellingham surpasses Ronaldo’s record with Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham scored in the 3-0 La Liga win over Cadiz on Sunday, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid resumed league play after the international break with a win against Cadiz, and Bellingham scored with 16 minutes remaining.

The England international joined Carlo Ancelotti’s side from Borussia Dortmund for £88.5 million in the summer and has made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals in 15 appearances for the club so far.

With his latest goal against Cadiz, he became the only player in Real Madrid’s history to score more than 13 goals in his first 15 games.

Ronaldo also made an excellent start to life at Real Madrid, scoring 13 goals in his first 15 competitive games following his £80 million move from Manchester United in 2009.

However, all the Portuguese captain could achieve was reaching the standard set by the club’s former players Alfredo Di Stéfano in 1953 and Pruden in 1943.

However, Bellingham’s recent results have been better than other former Real Madrid stars such as Ferenc Puskas (11 goals) and Ruud van Nistelrooy (9 goals).
