Nigerian politician Atiku Abubakar has praised Funke Akindele's success in making A Tribe Called Judah the first film in Nigeria's history to surpass $1 billion in box office revenue.

The PDP presidential candidate for the last general election posted his congratulations on his “X” page, formerly Twitter, and wrote: “A huge congratulations to @funkeakindele on the phenomenal success of A Tribe Called Judah. ​​The film broke box office records by becoming the first Nigerian film to gross 1 billion Naira in domestic theaters. But it also stands as a beacon of cultural pride and Nollywood's indomitable spirit. “The Tribe of Judah'' is more than just a movie. It is a cultural gem that reflects the vibrancy and resilience of Nigerian cinema.

Not only Atiku, other celebrities who are also the makers of the blockbuster film 'Jagun Jagun' congratulated the film on its success. Femi Adebayo posted the following message:

A Tribe Called Judah, directed by Funke Akindele, became the highest-grossing Nollywood film in 2022, breaking the record held by her film Battle on Buka Street. There's the Battle of Buka Street, a tribe called the Judas, and the “Omo Ghetto” according to the African Facts Zone.
