Appeal Court Upholds Election of Delta State Governor and Sheriff Oborevwori
The Court of Appeal upheld the March 18 election of Sheriff Oborevwori as governor of Delta State. The judgment was delivered on Friday, November 24, almost two months after the Delta State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal upheld Oborevwori’s election.
The three-member court headed by Justice CH Ahuchaogu dismissed the petition filed by former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The court ruled that Omo-Agege’s petition contained unsubstantiated allegations and was meritless and speculative.
