Another notorious wanted bandit surrenders to police in Kano


“Do you remember that the first three namely: Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu, Nasiru Abdullahi aka Chile Maidoki of Layin Polewire Kurna and Abba Burakita of Dorayi Karama Quarters, Kano are the influential youths identified promoting violence (Fadan Yan Daba ) of which the Police Command placed a bounty of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000:00) on each person’s head after hesitating to respond to the Police’s invitation within the deadline,” the statement read.

“The good news is that the last person; Hantar Daba yesterday, November 27, 2023, who was on the run finally surrendered to the Police Command.

“He was led with joy and happiness by his mother and some family members who requested to be part of the State Government’s amnesty program. He further said that he is sorry for the ugly life of the past and is now ready to participate in promoting peace. and sustainable development of the State.

“Furthermore, he admitted that he controls more than 100 followers of his camp, over whom he has strong influence, and that he will broker peace with them and lead them to a total change of the long-standing regime of struggle for supremacy (Fadan Yan Daba) between Hausawa, Gwale and Kofar Na’isa Thugs groups.

“Meanwhile, Hantar Daba is currently in the custody of the Kano State Police Command undergoing security profiling. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc has called on anyone with a complaint against Hantar Daba to come forward report to the Office of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at the Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano or lodge a complaint through the following contact numbers; 0806 572 7389 or 07033093437.

“Lastly, the Commissioner of Police while appreciating the gesture of friendship from the good people of the State, also thanked everyone for their prayers, understanding, continuous support, encouragement and cooperation.
