Anambra: ICT Agency announces plans to use technology to enhance accountability

The Anambra State ICT Authority MD/CEO, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, has unveiled plans to ensure accountability and curb corruption in government operations.

Recall that the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, launched the “Technology Everywhere and Technology Everywhere” program after taking oath of office in 2022.

Soludo, through the State ICT Department headed by Mr. Agbata, recently pioneered the introduction of electronic ID cards for all civil servants in the state to curb identity theft, introduced automation of budgetary processes through ICT, and at the same time technology has also been introduced.

In a press release, Mr. Agbata called on ministries and agencies to enhance the use of technology to solve governance challenges.

He said: “Technology holds the key to achieving responsibility, driving progress and ensuring sustainability across sectors.
