Unidentified gunmen on Thursday morning killed former Chairman of Amansi Development Association in Anambra State, Chief Kajetan Nwokike.

His death came less than two months after Umuozi's president, Chief Cyrus Onyima, was shot dead in his bedroom by assassins.

Mr Nwokike’s death was disclosed by the National Chairman of Anambra State Former Presidents and Generals Association, His Excellency Omife I, in a statement forwarded to DAILY POST on Friday.

“The Anambra State Presidents Association (APPAS) has received shocking news of the brutal death of one of its members, former PG Amansi Chief Kajetan Nwokike, who was allegedly shot dead by unknown gunmen at his home yesterday morning. Received at Amancie.

“According to reports, the late Kajetan Nwokike was performing his traditional morning prayer of breaking kola nuts on that fateful morning when two young men entered his home and shot him squarely in the head. It is said that he died instantly.

“APPAS is gravely concerned by the all-too-frequent death of Chief Nwokike and appeals to Governor Soludo and the security agencies to do everything possible to expose the perpetrators of this serial murder.

“Given his past track record in security management, I have no doubt that Governor Sordo has the ability to do this.

“We will deeply mourn the passing of Chief Kajetan Nwokike, who was a vibrant and very active member of APPAS. His death leaves a huge void in our association. .

“We extend our condolences to his family and assure them that his murderers will not go unpunished. May his soul rest in peace,” the statement read. was.
